Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup fresh shrimp (peeled and deveined)
  • 1 cup dry-packed scallops
  • 1 cup mild white fish fillet (like cod or tilapia)
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup low-sodium chicken broth
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 medium onion (finely chopped)
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 2 tbsp agar-agar
  • 1 cup grated Gruyère or mozzarella cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a medium casserole dish.
  2. In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Sauté onions until translucent, then add garlic and cook for an additional minute.
  3. Add shrimp, scallops, and fish to the skillet; season with salt and pepper. Cook until just opaque, about five minutes.
  4. In another saucepan, combine heavy cream and chicken broth over medium heat. Whisk in agar-agar until dissolved; simmer for about five minutes until slightly thickened.
  5. Gently fold the seafood mixture into the cream sauce and pour into the prepared casserole dish. Top with grated cheese.
  6. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until bubbly and golden brown on top. Let cool slightly before serving.
